KIEV – A woman in the Ukraine can thank her lucky star today that she is still alive and escaped a deadly accident with less than an inch to spare.

A camera mounted on an apartment complex in Kiev records the incident.

The street is quiet. There is no traffic, not wind, nothing at all really. Suddenly, a huge tree growing through the sidewalk gives way and falls over, barely missing a woman who had just exited an apartment building to dump her trash.

Amazingly, the woman didn’t get a scratch on her, although branches of the tree ruffled her a bit. The trunk of the tree slammed next to her missing her by just inches.

Cool headed as can be, the woman pushes her hair back in place, dusted off her coat and continues her walk as if nothing had happened.

An investigation later on determined that the heavy snowfall, which has plagued Kiev for some time, had rotten the tree’s root system.
